I will say, these kinds of patterns have preceded good things in the past. Dec 2021 was an extreme example, maybe Jan 2020.

Even if it doesn’t precede an arctic blast, at least it’s something interesting to track. Better than endless light rain and drizzle.

So the GFS from 14 days ago, wasn’t that far off from this time.. It did show us getting colder with snow chances it didn’t miss by that much really

And so it continues year after year no wonder some people's interest in weather wanes with our warming climate. It seems growing up there was more fun weather to track. Yes we had some mild winters but not these months at a time boredom.

Happy to see the rain, but man, I hope something starts showing up on the ensembles in the next week or so for late December.

The Euro AI ensemble. The ingredients are there, but just need that pattern to shift a few hundred kms to the east. If only it were that easy.....
