Wait, I thought the IPCC said that there is uncertainty as to whether climate change means more drought or less? And conversely, more flooding or less. As in, there's very weak correlation between precipitation and C02 levels.

Curious. Is there a conflation between weather and climate in this picture? What constitutes death by climate change? A flood? A tornado? Since the picture shows a flood, a weather event, I’ll go with the notion that whomever put this out is sloppy with definitions and figures. Because a better measure is per capita. Off the top of my head, death per capita from weather-related events has decreased over the past 100+ years. And a supposed dollar cost is meaningless. It’s a big sounding figure that implicitly is to leave you thinking big = bad. It ignores context—a deviation from a mean, it ignores inflation, population growth, populations congregating in areas prone to extreme events. It’s a multi-layered dumpster fire of messaging.

It’s your right to post, it’s others’ right to indicate what garbage this is. So called “deniers” like me would like to see those that believe anthropogenic climate change is catastrophic call this nonsense out. Call out the “experts” that fudge and misconstrue. Acknowledge the decades of inconsistency in messaging that have whipped up fear in many.

I’m not sorry if this is too adversarial for some. But it’s not an ad hominem attack. The weather is tedious, so why not sharpen our reasoning skills.

Winter's in 2050's will be warmer than this winter
10% of current ski areas in the west might be still operational by 2080.

Snowpacks are actually related to precipitation, not temperature, and snowpacks are getting MORE over time (because winters are getting wetter). IF temperature rises about 5 degrees, then you could be right, or if things start drying out.

This graph represents mid-mountain on Big White.

Interesting. If anthropogenic CO2 emissions were the independent variable, rhetorically, wouldn't warming be more uniform over the months? This lends to disproving anthropogenic contributions as needing a "climate emergency." Well, we are flirting with criminalizing dissent--wink, wink, Charlie Angus.

Would also be interesting to see how much the UHI effect has had on average temps over the period of record. Likely the main driver of overnight temps warming at a faster rate when compared to daytime temps.
