Re: Random Stats
This is an inconvenient stat "they" don't want you to know about.... that Whitehorse is warmer in July than Hawaii (at Mauna Loa), the Lower Mainland (at Hollyburn Ridge), the Okanagan (at McCulloch Lake), Colorado (at Waverly), and even Arizona (at Alpine).
This are just facts that you cannot fathom and will probably die of cognitive dissonance trying to comprehend it.

Re: Random Stats
Humidity is all that matters. Absolute humidity, not the relative kind.
Here is average July absolute humidity in Canada expressed as vapour pressure (more moisture, more vapour pressure).

Some impressively cold winters:
1874/75

1908/09
1935/36
1942/43
1949/50
1964/65
1968/69
Last year was the coldest temperature since December 1968!
The winter of 1925/26 remains the most mild winter ever, both in Victoria and elsewhere in BC.

The extreme low Tmaxs and Tmins were completely nutty for that event. Feel like its the closest thing to a wintertime analogy to the June 2021 heatwave.
January 1862 was undoubtedly more impressive (-27c unofficially at New Westminster), but records are very spotty.
