Eastern WA and SE BC seem to be the hot spot to see major t-storms. Some very impressive CAPE values projected Sat afternoon. 850mb tank by 25C.

Also potential for tornadic activity in the Spokane Valley area.

SW BC could see snow levels drop to 900m Sun morning. Local Mountains could pick up a few cm.

^ 35C would be an all time May record for Kelowna. I'm going to say it doesn't happen.

It really shocks me that it has never been 35 before. I mean, back where I was living as a small child in 1983 in central BC at over 900m (3000ft), the temperature was 37C . And yet, Vernon was only 34.5C and Kelowna 34.4C!

May of 1983 was one heck of a heat wave, because even Whitehorse, YT was 34.1C and Dawson City, Yukon was 34.7C!

Other temperatures that Month that were also record May temperatures was Osoyoos at 36C, Dease Lake at 35.3C.
The hottest in the country that month were:

1) Boston Bar and Lytton at 40.5
3) Lillooet, Riske Creek, Chilliwack, and Spences Bridge at 38.5C
7) Williams Lake, Cultus Lake, Elbow Lake, Rosedale, Ashcroft, and Barriere at 38C

Outside of BC, the hottest place in Canada was 40 Mile Creek, just north of Dawson City at 36C.

I have 40.4C for Lytton.

The heatwave of May 1983 was insane. Many stations broke their all-time record that month.

Would be nice to get a nice round of thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon/evening.

Though....Predicting thunderstorms around here is like predicting snowstorms during winter.

I believe Vancouver hit 35C in May 1983.

Not sure how accurate that reading was but still very impressive.

I would say it's likely.
30.4C at the airport.
34.5C in Richmond Nature Park.

I was rounding to the nearest 0.5C because all the non-Lytton stations were doing that.
