Good Saturday weather enthusiast!

I only have one thing to say about this coming weeks weather: "Oo-de-lally"! :alert: :flakey:

This week is shaping up to be a crazy cool and snowy period. While temps don't look to get that cold, the chances for snow, even at sea level is very likely, especially as the week goes on.

Let's start,

The first chance of flurries begins Sunday night. A special weather statement should be issued by then. Accumulation will be just a trace over higher elevations. Monday will be a cooling day and partly sunny. A snowfall warning will be issued. Monday night will see rain become snow all the way to sea level. Higher elevations should start as snow or transition quickly. Overnight, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is when the fun begins! :flakey: :flakey:

Under a snowfall warning we could see 10cm per day, so after the 3 days some areas could have nearly 30cm on the ground!! Now of course this will vary depending on your location, with less accumulation at sea level. Overall the entire Lower Mainland from Vancouver to Hope will get covered in snow. This is snowstorm potential! Especially at higher elevations!

Thursday we see a bit of a break but temps will continue to cool off. As we head into the weekend, there is another more significant snowfall possible. Since all areas will have had time to cool down, this will be a widespread sticking snowfall for all areas. Blizzard like conditions may occur if things line up.

The track of the systems sliding down the coast make this very favourable for Vancouver area snow.

Ground and bodies of water are still a bit warm, so initial melting will be high.

As usual we are riding the line here so it could go either way in terms of snowfall amounts, but as it is, models are mostly in agreement of snow for sure.

Exciting first winter storm of the season! Enjoy!

Super excited. Wonder if they will shut down the two roads up to SFU. I better stock up.
