Bono is on snow watch! They had to lighten his workload.

Yeah, but at KSEA it became a sh*t snow after the snow started sticking.
It's called clown range for a reason.

So they should for the snow to stick? I was in airplane on the the runway for 8 hours waiting to take off. It's not fun.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 1:13 pm Yeah, but at KSEA it became a sh*t snow after the snow started sticking.

Once the heavier stuff gets close, I would say it is time to cancel flights. Seems a little silly to cancel them when they could just take off, no deicing needed.

Well it’s picked up a lot now. Solid light snow moving to moderate
Burnaby Mountain @ 365 m..
Stats? Fresh out of those. But I win anyway. I got all the inches.

Radar shows heavier stuff starting to move in. It's really picked up the pace here in Gastown in the last several minutes.

Re: November 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
They probably canceled afternoon/evening flights in advance, they don't want to overwhelmed the system, accommodating passengers and a lot of other factors like Bono mentioned. Very wise decision if you ask me.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 1:17 pm Once the heavier stuff gets close, I would say it is time to cancel flights. Re: November 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
Mate, I work in the tower at YVR. Don’t make bold statements about things you may not appreciate. While KSEA is busier than YVR, YVR has far more flights that fly into remote airports across BC in light twin airplanes that are not able to operate in those conditions today. Secondly, YVR has far more flights that must operate in VFR conditions. Can’t do that today. Finally, YVR the airport itself is not laid out for high volume deice operations. That’s on the airport authority, but it is a fact. Airlines are prudent to cancel those flights to better position their aircraft for recovery operations tomorrow.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 1:17 pm Once the heavier stuff gets close, I would say it is time to cancel flights.
