I actually thought the moisture would have more trouble reaching you this time.
I was definitely expecting more than I got here, so yeah pretty disappointing.

5 winters out here now l'm beginning to learn the features that play a roll in snowfall amounts.
Outflow, rotation of incoming moisture, even moisture coming from up Hope way.

Haha, I swear I didn’t! I think I was working the tower position (airplanes in the air) at that time. It feels like forever ago now though.Catnip wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 10:22 pm Bono, did you tell them to turn left instead of right?

Snowing here again and looks like it's picking up again on radar.
It took a friend of mine 5.5 hours to get home from work today.

Re: November 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
O.k. stand corrected 98 l should have looked it up that was the event we were coming out of an Arctic blast l remember the morning of -14c on my thermometer in Poco, we talked about this event before l remember Mark Madygra thinking it wasn't going to warm up either.
Turned to rain by noon that day l'll never forget that went Christmas shopping at Coquitlam Centre that morning after night shift did crazy things back then excited with the snowfall

Re: November 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
At least we got a fairly big overrunning snowstorm that time. Think back about 15 years before that in December 1983. Significant arctic blast in the week leading up to Christmas with temps well below 0c. People skating on Lost Lagoon. Big snowstorm forecast to end the cold snap and it was a complete bust. Gradual warming, and a few cm of snow fell before transitioning to cold rain.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 12:39 am O.k. stand corrected 98 should have looked it up thatwas the event we were coming out of an Arctic blast l remember the morning of -14c on mty thermometer in Poco, we talked about this before l remember Mark Madygra thinking it wasn't going to warm up either.

Oh man yes that forecasted event that was a collapse after the fact.Typeing3 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 12:44 am At least we got a fairly big overrunning snowstorm that time. Actually the worst case scenario waking up Christmas morning expecting snow and it was bone dry, E.C. had a snowfall warning up as well.
We were at the out laws for Christmas back then could only call the weather line man l remember l wanted to call but couldn't would have looked like an idiot.
Couldn't even turn on one of the Seattle channels to see what happened to the system as they had the best weather coverage.

Probably the worst transition out of such a significant cold snap in recorded history around these parts.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 12:48 am Oh man yes that forecasted event that was a collapse after the fact.

January 1979 was filled with a bunch of similar busts. It was a cold month with an average temp around 0c but we really failed in the snow department.
