It is a beautiful night out there, cold, crisp and clear. I love the squeaking sound the snow makes when you walk on it when its cold out and the moonlight makes it sparkle. I still have over 30cm of the 40 that fell, lovely light powder.
currently -11.7 DP-12.6 it looks like I may get another 30cm out of the next one.

Nito said dry and cool, haven't looked at the models, kind of surprised GFS looks good.

Can we stop littering this planet with model runs? I found an old 12z GFS run in a creek near me.

The 00z CNIP, 00z HAWK and 00Z BNO?
The CNIP model has an extreme cold bias and it’s snow maps often output unrealistic outcomes.

Can’t truss it!

Toss it!

Multiple reloads of arctic air and snowstorms on the 00Z GFS. But they are all in the clown range so throw it out. :14clown:

The 0z NFS just came in though, it shows a massive ridge overhead for all December followed by nonstop pineapples until late February. Then a deep trough will arrive and bring 2-4 cm of slushy snowfall which doesn't last the day.
2025-26 season stats:
Climo :cancel: ∞ to 0.5 :14clown: GFS

Season total: 0.5 cm and TWO traces!
Peak depth: 0.5 cm (01/07/2026)
