It's snowing out, innit? Is it really celebrating too early when the flakes are already flying when none were predicted?

When did YXX record -10.5C yesterday?

Hourly temps never got below -8.6C and it was steady for several hours. My weather station shows there were no major fluctuation in the temperature during that time.

Same in Vancouver (often mentioned), in Campbell River (-12.2°C yesterday morning with an hourly Tmin of -8.0°C), etc. Those sensors are very questionable IMO.

I might add, the band on the Island right now is gaining steam on radar, not losing steam.

About 2 cm of snow fell this morning before 9 am. It's gotten dark again, more snow???
