Are you sure? I think you can still get it if you change the reflectivity mode down at the bottom?

I hope that heavier stuff around Aberdeen makes it this way.

Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: Fri Dec 02, 2022 1:24 pm By the way, how does the road funding break down in Canada? In the States, gas taxes pay for the major highways but don't come close to paying for the side streets or the secondary roads. The latter are paid for mainly via property taxes. And of course those are the ones most popular with cyclists (because who likes riding a bike on a busy highway).
Provincial and Federal and local general funding which is collected from a number of sources including:
Gasoline tax https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/taxe ... carbon-tax is put into the general fund
All other types of federal and provincial taxes (income, sales, capital gains etc)
Local government taxes including property tax and development cost charges

Basically city road projects come from local funding property tax and developer cost charges except road projects that are part of the Major Road Network (MRN). MRN projects are jointly paid by city and Translink. Translink gets part of it's funding from fuel tax collected in Metro Vancouver only. https://buzzer.translink.ca/2020/05/how ... nk-funded/ Translink also provides funding for cycling projects in Metro Vancouver, up to 75% if it is part of the Major Bike Network. https://www.translink.ca/plans-and-proj ... ay-network

Provincial highways are directly funded from the provincial general tax fund.

Do drivers really pay for all of the roads with gas tax? No.
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!

We have had no rain or snow in the interior since June. Because both radars are being replaced and old ones are down at Silver Star and Prince George. If there's no radar to pick up the rain, did it really happen? That's your philosophical question for today.

New radars are expected to be finished before the end of the month.
