I lived just up North Rd. from Lougheed mall 68/69 l was 9 yrars old North Rd. was 2 lanes with gravel shoulders and Lougheed mall was just opened that year, now look at that whole North Rd. corridor it's just as bad it's a gong show.
That was the cold snowy winter it got down to -18c at YVR, 2-3 feetzzzz of snow just after Christmas had to walk down the hill and back to school seemed like blocks. :x

Reminds me of living in Williams Lake as a young kid. Walking to school in -30, windchill of -40. I'll be honest I don't miss those extremes as much as the reliable snowfall and the smell of it when the cold arrived, man oh man.

Nice Kells at least it was pretty much guaranteed Arctic air every winter and snow.
How does Williams do for snowfall? to me it seems dryer than l would think.

Yeah, another one of those rare epic winters, especially living out in Coquitlam seemed so far from Vancouver back then.
We talked about this before to Tman, l'll never forget having breakfast before school my Mom had CKWX news on and l remember hearing Vancouver was 0f -18c.
