Local media is so pathetic nowadays. I long for the local in depth coverage that CKNW used to do, or even News 1130. Both are not very good anymore, but 1130 has gone to hell. Z95? Well it's for kids anyway, so they will say anything on air to try to excite people.

Maybe the first big model bust will change that :D Thanks to all or most of the members for keeping it light and fun.
I'd say you're right, we're just on big happy family :ghug: That's what makes this forum a great place to hang out, lots of fun even, or especially, when the models fail.

It has also been a pretty good start to the winter. We had snow before winter even started and it stuck around for most people. There's been years we've seen less in the whole winter.

Unfortunately Houndbud, that all ended once big conglomerate companies took over stations, local ownership meant ppl that cared about there community.
That's why it's all streaming on line for me now example The Fun Tower Radio the way radio use to be.

Gradual warmup for a couple days after the December 30th snowstorm (dropped ~25-50cm across Metro Vancouver in 36hrs), but with little rain. Melt occurred but snowpack held on. Forecast originally was for warmup with rain, but the cold air returned with another snowstorm between Jan 6th and 9th that dropped another 25-50cm. Resulted in 60cm+ snow depth in most areas across Metro Vancouver.

Recall Nito talking about this one as well back in Dec 2016, when a few model runs showed something similar.
Speaking of off guard..When is the last time where the weatherman had no idea it was gonna snow that day? Nowadays seems like they've got all the angles covered especially with borderline events when they mention the different possibilities due to area, elevation, etc.
