We see gradual moderation as the outflow delays moisture till tomorrow morning. Snowfall stays relatively light with less than 2cm tomorrow morning and then we quickly change to freezing rain and then +0.5C drizzle until we see strong winds arrive which warms us up to +9C with heavy rain starting after!

The low-level cold air is very cold and likely to be tenacious. Shaping up to be quite the ice storm.

PDX currently reporting -6ËšC with a mix of freezing rain and ice pellets.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Not very surprising... there wasn't much snow forecasted for areas south of Seattle. Lots of ice pellet and ZR action though.

Those radar echoes have been streaming towards the metro area and disintegrating before they hit land since about 2:00 PM today. Sure, the moisture will eventually win, but it may still be several more hours.

Hey! Mostly a lurker on here, but we definitely have freezing rain out in west Port Angeles. 23 currently with a dew point of 16. No snow or sleet, just straight to freezing rain. 😬

Outflow winds have really slowed at my place in Abby. Maybe an indication to a faster transition to rain?

EC radar trends lead me to believe we're about done saturating. The green to the SW which has stayed relatively far away has made a significant advance in the last couple frames.

Hope everyone score some big snow tonight instead of freezing rain.

I appreciate all the maps and weather knowledge posted on here, it definitely goes into my decision making when planning trips in the winter  I had originally planned on driving to Kelowna Christmas Eve, but fortunately was able to do so today instead.
