On the plus side, given how it transitioned to ice pellets so fast last night, I was expecting it to be 100% freezing rain and not this wintry mix now. The more precip that falls as something other than freezing rain, the better.

we got some snow, hard to say how much but it was very light, I checked a couple of times during the night, didn't see anything coming down but the shoveled path was covered.

now it's ice, ice baby, as Heavy said, you can hear it as it hits; very crunchy, powder snow covered with ice pellets

your getting ice pellets...frozen chunkers..they dont coat everything like freezing rain does, which is liquid that freezes on surfaces on contact, bc all surfaces are well below 0, like -7c for instance
