I have crappy maps but an estimated 6-10" of rain will fall between tonight and Tuesday with 2000m freezing levels but I suspect this might be underdoing totals as models have trended warmer and wetter. This with melting snow and potential ice jams on streams and rivers...

Occasional light breeze and some of the trees are losing their snow. It looks pretty impressive to see it all plummeting down and the cloud of snow falling. Time to go clear off the plastic over the greenhouse and the sheep.

The ZR has been moderate at my place for a few hours. Pretty intense band stalled over my area. Too bad this isn't snow because it would really be piling up.

My neighbor is a textbook example of an idiot. They are driving to Abbotsford right now for Christmas Eve dinner at his daughters, which is tomorrow, because he thinks all the roads will be closed by tomorrow. I tried telling him it would be +8C by tomorrow

There were also reports of people panic buying at the Safeway near me yesterday...

Yep, my co workers brother works at Save-On in Surrey and he mentioned this last night. I thought maybe it was a one off. Guess not.

We did a mini grocery run yesterday at Save On to pick up a couple of things for the weekend and we definitely saw some panic buying. Pure idiocy.
