Seems like you mostly just had ice pellets today... do you ever remember a freezing rain event on the sunshine coast?
Snow through the night then a skiff of ice pellets then a brief rain shower. Very wet snow/ice pellets now, moderate flakes and rate.
We did have freezing rain last year and Gibsons-Langdale-Port Mellon get very different weather. I don't remember any big news about it. There were some pretty pictures of iced trees in the Creek.

Someone posted earlier that all frozen precip counts, if I remember right.
With an asterisk l'm assuming l don't want to get to far ahead of skipper Grumplings, IP may not be in the rule book since it favors the Sardis Sardinies.
Can one of our master stats guys tell me the last time YVR spent a longer stretch below -5C than the (by my count) 113 consecutive hours this week? And what's the longest stretch of such temperatures?
2025-26 season stats:
Climo ∞ to 0.5 GFS
Season total: 0.5 cm and TWO traces!
Peak depth: 0.5 cm (01/07/2026)

Definitely snowing now, Big flakes and heavy rate, best daytime snow I've seen this week. Taking the dog out to investigate further.
How is that possible l thought the column is mixed layers everywhere if l'm saying it correctly.

Off hand my first guesses would be either December 1990 or November 1985 for the last time it occured.
