Christmas is pretty much cancelled there and power will probably take days to restore in some locations.
That's what is coming again if not more.

Chilliwack is really screwed until we get a SW or S wind because that layer of cold air will not erode.

GFS/WRF and NAM have a southerly surge of wind scouring out this cold air after midnight. If this busts....

Think we had about 10cm of snow cover here prior to the overrunning event that dropped around 20cm, followed by the freezing rain event.

That arctic blast featured a big snowstorm bust for the mainland right? I didn't follow the models back then but I recall someone on here mentioned that the models collapsed at the last minute. While parts of Island ended up with a major 30cm+ snowfall, the mainland only got around 5-10cm when much more was originally shown on the models.

Exactly it did Jr. 30cm was forecasted l was living in Maple Ridge we had a brief heavy snowfall tha didn't even last an hour the rest of the event was flurries as we transitioned out to freezing rain and disappointment hmmm much like this l suppose.
Edit: That event wasn't as cold to start as this one was going off memory it was -5c at least in Maple Ridge to start so the freezing rain or cold air scoured out pretty quick l recall.

This cold snap was vastly superior though.

It's dark out so I don't know what it's doing out there. But I know what it's going to be doing for the whole of next week!

No cold for the next while but a really weird zonal pattern sets up with a few interesting storms. Could see warm rain, cold rain, snow, hail, wind and thunderstorms the next week.

Campbell River and Comox could see heavy wet snowfall with Tuesdays system

This is showing up next Friday. May not happen but just an example.

Oh by far Kells so this end event will be remembered by most of us as a bust.

Made it to +.5 , but don't see any icicles melting yet on the telephone and power lines.

What do the Canucks and Skooks have in common?

They're a mystery to me.

They move in mysterious ways.

Yep, a few marginal snowfalls (NW flow) between boxing day and new years before the arctic air moved in a week later. Higher elevations of Coquitlam had quite a bit of snow on the ground.
