No cold for the next while but a really weird zonal pattern sets up with a few interesting storms. Could see warm rain, cold rain, snow, hail, wind and thunderstorms the next week.

Campbell River and Comox could see heavy wet snowfall with Tuesdays system

This is showing up next Friday. May not happen but just an example.

Probably some heavy wet snow at pomos house and a big mountain snow. I find that's what happens when GFS shows you marginal snowfall at that range.

That arctic blast featured a big snowstorm bust for the mainland right? I didn't follow the models back then but I recall someone on here mentioned that the models collapsed at the last minute. While parts of Island ended up with a major 30cm+ snowfall, the mainland only got around 5-10cm when much more was originally shown on the models.

That was actually January 2005.

Fairly long moderate cold snap (local lakes froze) with about 10cm on the ground. Overrunning event was a bust for the mainland. Island got slammed though.

Not even close imo. Especially because a bust is definitely made worse if there wasn't much of note prior but in this case we're coming out of a cold and snowy week.

I'd say it's the worst icing event in Metro Vancouver since January 2004. Could even be since December 1996 for some spots.

What Metro is seeing is almost a yearly routine in Abbotsford.
