Re: January 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
Some areas in the N/NE Similkameeeens got lots of snow in Nov and DecGlacier wrote: ↑Thu Jan 05, 2023 8:58 pm December sure didn't have much snow. only 28 cm even at 1000 m elevation (Spokin Lake). 60% of normal. Similar for the Williams Lake airport.
But that's the interior.
On the coast, it was also close to snow-free.
QUATSINO LIGHTSTATION = 0 cm of snow.
BONILLA ISLAND = 0.6 cm (6% of normal)
ADDENBROKE ISLAND = 6 cm (41% of normal)
NOOTKA LIGHTSTATION = 2 cm (43% of normal)
But I cherrypicked the few spots with little snow. Here are some others for balance...
NORTH COWICHAN = 56.8 cm (600% of normal)
SHAWNIGAN LAKE = 64.6 cm (434% of normal)
ESTEVAN POINT = 7.4 cm (433% of normal)
COMOX A = 43.8 cm (235% of normal)
And in the interior:
PEACHLAND = 81 cm! (259% of normal)
No official measurements but so deep and dense snowpack already
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++

Quiet here. Or maybe I slept through it.
It's called clown range for a reason.

I think I saw them and they had colder temps going into Feb with the core of the cold starting to focus on the PNW. It's definitely nothing like what we just had in December though.

Pretty strong signal! We don't want to keep getting it pushed back though.

SWS for the Sunshine Coast for wind. I'd say it's as strong as it was with yesterday's warning.

Re: January 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
What is more likely to happen first?
The local hockey team here winning a Stanley Cup or this region seeing a historically cold January?

Neither although in my lifetime YVR which is a lame excuse for Vancouver city in general for an overall temperature.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 10:01 pm What is more likely to happen first?

Re: January 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
Nightmare flashbacks of February 2021, signs around mid January of what appeared to be a late Jan early Feb period of perhaps snow/cold complete with a Wpro synopsis of goodies. Well we all know how Feb 2021 turned out much like the bubble NHL season that year for the Knuckleheads.
