These NW winds seem to disproportionately affect the City Proper, Richmond, and Delta. It's clattering the gates and fences here.

Atmospheric scientist Dr. Simon Lee mentioned that a major Sudden Stratospheric warming event will finalize on Wednesday. Here is his tweet:

Models often struggle during these events. My guess is that the operation models will jump on board in a few days.

It was quite comparable to that little event at the end of January here. They are just more excited about it because they haven’t seen as much snow overall this season.

That's understandable Rubes however ours lingered longer and then we got another dusting that night but we hovered around 0c all day after the first shot of precip.
There's will melt quickly during the day, but good for them.
