Both featured strong NE winds, rapid temperature drop, and heavy snowfall. The snowiest of the two was by far the December 2021 event.

Then of course you have December 4th, 1956, which runs away with the victory by far. Rapid temperature drop with damaging Fraser outflow winds and heavy snow. Maybe I'll see a repeat of that one day but if so it will likely be in my dreams given our current climate.
What about January 2020 Jr. man that was very decent heavy snow and decent temperature drop with strong outflow in the central valley.

My computer failed and took down my station for quite a while (back up now). Because of that and other reasons I haven't been around as much lately.

January seemed like almost a total write off until the last minute. I ended up with around 8 cm for Jan 31st-Feb 1st.

Nothing here last night, maybe a bit of chunky rain if you were streetlight gazing.

I'm at C+ or B-, hopefully a solid B or B+ by next weekend.
Ah man sorry to hear that Abbs Sr. I thought maybe you had enough and shut'r down for the winter.
Ya l was wondering as l check your station since l work just down on Riverside.
Glad it's back up.
I stand corrected l also received 8cm in Chilliwack on Jan 31st/Feb 1st so l went from C to B, last night we received 3cm so with next week's event definitely an upgrade coming depending on snowfall could pull off an A+ for this season so it's a B so far
glad your back Abbs.

January 12th, 2020 was pretty good too.

February 3rd, 2019 didn't produce much snow for Metro Vancouver unfortunately, despite the temp drop during the day. Mostly just a trace-1cm from what I can recall.

That event was epic for the Eastern and Central Valley but areas west of Chilliwack missed out. Mostly just an arctic trickle in Abbotsford. :bang:

Never , it ain't over til it's over. I've thrown a snowball challenge on Sardineman's alleged 3cm from last night's game. At 3:07am he posted he got 3cm, at 6:10am he posted he just got home from work. Something smells fishy. With his wife fast asleep and Sardineman just putting slytyguy on waivers for being MIA , I ask, who did the measuring? His dog?

And if that fails I'll claim slytyguy off waivers, maybe he just needs a change of scenery and add some weight. Some nice and greasy fishn chips from Moby Dicks at White Rock beach should do the trick. I also might trade my 1st round pick for 97 year old John Chilliwack, a little long in the tooth but good in the corners and always gives 110%.

At Pitt Meadows: temp dropped from 2.3c at 6pm to -2.5c by 8pm on January 12th, 2020. Sustained winds 24km/hr with gusts up to 41km/hr.

Pretty significant arctic front passage, by 21st century standards at least.

That Friday system is very consistent across all the models. I think I see it in GEM GFS Euro and ICON.
2025-26 season stats:
Climo :cancel: ∞ to 0.5 :14clown: GFS

Season total: 0.5 cm and TWO traces!
Peak depth: 0.5 cm (01/07/2026)

00z GFS: Arctic front passes through the region on Tuesday evening/overnight with moderate outflow. Scattered flurries possible but looks mostly dry. Cool, dry and windy on Wednesday and Thursday before an overrunning event on Friday.

Footage from the City of Chilliwack traffic cams of the 3cm crossing the goal line skipper plus my measurement when l got home @ 6a.m. Slyts has been missing since New Years so he's on waivers John has been practicing one liners so he could be a good TNSS pick up (traumatic no snow syndrome)

The Friday event is that all she wrote Tcoldrecords or are there more snow chances after?

It will trend towards a dry overrunning event where the outflow shreds the initial precip band...before the 2nd surge of precip comes onshore for +1C rain.
