8 degrees at Whatcom, 15 min ago, 3 degrees at Lickman road right now...and east wind picking up here...this is fun

Wow! That's quite a difference.

It was a beautiful day here, sunny and warm-ish, I planted a row of raspberries and put in some garlic cloves that had sprouted. I can hear the rain pelting down now, it's been sporadic so far.

The sky definitely has that distinct impending snow look to it to the N/NW.

This week is looking interesting as per EC

Nito desperately taking the leafblower to 4-6" of wet snow to clear a path around the lawn mower, which has gotten stuck

Ya I drove through this as it passed down town Langley up through Surrey. It was cool. A mix of hail and snow and wind. Pretty fun.

Driving up island on my way home from work earlier. Was 6 degrees in Chemainus. 15 minutes later it was 0 and snowing at the Nanaimo airport. By the time i hit Nanaimo it was some of the heaviest snow i've driven in. Stopped for a bit but has since picked up again. Probably 3" already.

That's normal Rubes we call it El Nito's Arctic farce climate control dewpoints drop air temp rises.
Fake cold with the windchill making it feel like a legit Arctic front. and then come Saturdays system precip arrives in afternoon temps at plus 2c with 925mb temps @ 1c then it's all over.
Luckily some areas further inland could have wet bulb effect for abit.

Looks like it's fairly accurate! Still doesn't seem to have passed through extreme western sections of the Lower Mainland yet though (ex. YVR). Overall I prefer checking the current obs.

Oh for sure it's a more accurate reflection l find that app is for more of a reference more than anything it's not bad but not perfect.

Winter Takes Another Stab!

A few flurries could pass by tonight, but not much will accumulate over the lower mainland. Any sticking snow will occur over Vancouver island tonight.

Wednesday though will see flurries in most parts of the lower mainland and some areas could see about 3CM depending on location.

Then after a few days of sun and cooler temps, we could see a more significant snowfall on Saturday. Perhaps around 10CM and if it doesn't change to rain on Sunday perhaps another 5CM by the end of Sunday night. So maybe in some lucky areas a 15CM total could be seen. Still need to wait to get closer to the weekend to see what will happen. This late in the season is even harder to predict the outcome.

The rest of the month and into March is a bit odd looking. Hmm.
