Komo

Thursday a cold trough of low pressure moves into Canada, sagging southward, it will push cold air and plenty of showers into northern Washington first. Snow levels appear to be closer to 1,000 feet Thursday morning which will keep much of the lowlands in a rain/snow mix or cold rain. Late Thursday night into Friday morning another surge of much colder air drops the snow levels very low again through Friday. Showers will continue through Friday and keeps the threat of some lowland snow showers close.

Interesting so E.C.'s 10c for this Saturday is garbage.
Even Global's weather tonight for the end of the week was mild it sounds totally different reading KOMO's synopsis.
I've pretty much given up on anything beyond 2 day's on E.C. l go by our amateur mets you guys are more accurate.

Will be mowing the lawn and cherry blossoms by then.
Why do you and so many others complain about our weather immediately after we get the fun stuff? It's literally the last week of February and there is 30cms of snow sitting in my front yard. Be happy. What's to complain about? You know what part of the world we live it.

We've had measurable snowfall Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb. We got that champagne powder in December with temps at -10. Look at everything in perspective.

Legitimately never makes sense to me. The constant negativity even immediately following an amazing winter event is one of the things that keeps me from posting here more often.

And to top it off, it literally just starting snowing again.

Very true Mr. Oven l think it's more a comment about other places can get system after system or dump after dump where here our events are far and few between yes l realize it's our climate and this is how it is.
Yes l enjoyed the event with approx. 20cm left in my backyard.

Few tiny flakes falling..dry snow..floating lightly as they fall. Just enough to see white dots on dark parked vehicles under the street light. Maybe 4 to 5 flakes per sq inch. Flake size 2 to 3 mm.
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)

Still going, but very light (normal flakes). Will let you know if it amounts to anything.

Hmm my phone has Windy using the Euro and it seems to think we're getting a long episode of snow tomorrow. Not so sure about that. Clouds are breaking up overhead so nothing to see here.

Can't believe how much of my snow held on today! It's still a winter wonderland out there. I am in such a unique spot in Maple Ridge, it seems. If you go just west of me, the Pitt River seems to put a cap on snow events. So annoying how YVR and Pitt Meadows airport are both official reporting stations but don't really snow the overall picture because the surrounding areas are MUCH different. Anyway, head west from me and snow totals are much lower. Then just east of me it seems the downtown Maple Ridge area gets less snow as well. Head south of me and you get less and less as you approach the Fraser.

Basically, central Maple Ridge and Central Pitt Meadows don't encompass what's happening elsewhere. And then once you get into East Maple Ridge, it's like an entirely different climate there. They tend toward more snow and wayyy more thunderstorms. The area between Maple Ridge and Mission along Lougheed Highway is prime area for thunderstorms in the summer.
