Re: March 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
If snow levels will be 100 to 200 m I struggle in believing SFU will get 10 cm of new snow accumulated on the ground. That amount could fall of course but melt. We shall see.
Not home yet so can’t tell if it’s raining or snowing. Doesn’t seem to be doing much along Hastings in the heights.

Burnaby Mountain @ 365 m..
Stats? Fresh out of those. But I win anyway. I got all the inches.

Looks like it’s snowing there now! I’m hoping for some snow tonight if any proper precip every makes it here.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 5:28 pm Weird. It's raining up at SFU too. Either the 925mb maps are off or there's warm advection above 200m.

Re: March 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
Got home around 5pm on the Langley bump and sadly it was 3c to 4c driving home thru Pitt Meadows and actually warmer on the bump. Weird temp layers out there. Is this a good sign? Its almost like the lower levels are chillier in some cases...Nito? Bono? Anyone? WP? Met?
And i looked at SFU cams around 3:30-4pm and it was snowing. The trees were all still snow covered..usually a good sign

Warm air advection. Most likely a warm layer between 600-800m.

Originally it was 8.0 cm. Probably an error, once again...VanCitySouth wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 6:55 pm Environment Canada officially put down 2 cm of snow in yesterday's stats.
