Squamish has had enough, I will share snow now or actually you guys can have it haha! It is spring break for the teenagers next week and guess what NO dirt biking it's like the end of the world right now LOL. It is raining here now but the snow is mixing in now. Still alot of the white stuff, cannot see my grass and it's March 3rd. Insane!

I gotta say, I'm reminded once again that one of the things I love the most about snow events is how this forum comes alive and you see and hear from all kinds of posters. It was a cool winter in that it started off incredibly in early and then late November, had a classic event in late December and then pretty much has ended off with a bang. Of course its not "over" over but the main event appears to be over. The lack of a January is a drag but IMO it doesn't take away from being a post 2000's classic.
I would put this winter pretty high in the post 2000's rankings, probably 3rd behind 08/09 and 16/17. But in the back to back winters category, 2021/22-2022/23 has to be the best since I'm going to say 89/90?? I mean if you weight the strength of both winters, not putting something like 95/96-96/97 or 07/08 - 08/09 together, being that one is far stronger than the other.
So IMO the best back to back winters since 1990 is something to be fairly happy about in this modern winter climate. And frankly if you put the 2016-2023 era of winters together it looks pretty good, you only have the one huge dud in 2020/21 and everything else was either average or strong. I am bracing for an El. Nino dud next year but who knows, maybe that winter could add to this era of relative decency. Recent history would urge caution in getting too optimistic about that.
This of course comes from a lower mainland perspective and honestly my back yard has probably out performed most sea level locations so it goes without saying that I am incredibly biased...but its always relative to your location.
Oh also, we had some sort of wicked hail shower today. I wasn't here but I can see the evidence left on the snow piles.

You know what, those kids can suffer with their access to powder skiing/boarding or sledding. But when you guys absolutely kill your surrounding locations in snow you have to take your lumps when you get them, aka a little extra snow in March instead of the welcomed warm up.
Either way the EPS predicts a pretty convincing warm up pattern in 2 weeks, so we should all be hopefully enjoying a few days of sunshine.

Two years that surprise me: 2000 and 2002. I thought 2000 was a wasteland and 2002 was meh.
Snow storms in late January 2002 and early-mid March 2002.
I also don't recall any significant snow events in 2000 of the top of my head, though I think there was a fair few slushfalls in January 2000 that padded the annual total.
My cousin 60km NE of the GTA said they got over 12cm of snow in 1.5 hours. It was snowing so heavy that they could only see a wall of white out their window.
