Thankfully, there haven't been many blossoms yet. Just noticed my first few open cherry blooms yesterday.moonshadow0825 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 3:16 pm Last year when we had such a cool spring I learned that bees really don't fly in temperatures under 10C![]()
It didn't seem like my fruit trees had been pollinated (lots of blossoms, little fruit), so I looked it up
Happy to hear the bees are venturing out!

I am slightly excited by the prospect of a cool and wet summer though. I've been reading some outlooks that seem to suggest a weaker 4 corners high this summer. So, there's that.

I will just be happy if there is no smokefest. Not counting on it, though.

That explains why it was a bad year here for fruit also. Had almost nothing on the apple pear tree that is usually loaded, it makes awesome dried fruit and the apple trees were pretty sparse too. Hopefully this year will be better.moonshadow0825 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 3:16 pm Last year when we had such a cool spring I learned that bees really don't fly in temperatures under 10C![]()

I'm enjoying the dry days, today was especially nice, warm and sunny, the mud is even drying up. Sadly I see the rest of the forecast is rain, showers and variations thereof. The only high point is chance of flurries on night 7...snow is always 7 days away.

Today was a perfect meteorological spring day in the central valley with a high of plus 12.7c and a soft Annis road outflow with crashing dewpoints this afternoon,
felt like a mid January Arctic puff day.

Re: March 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
Very nice 24 hours of Spring. Sunny with temps pushing 15c yesterday. This morning we wake up to snow visibly falling on the North Shore Mtns, with low snow levels. Golden Ears Mtn looks tremendous...with very low snow levels due to evaporative cooling. They look to be receiving a proper pumbling of snow this am
Will we see snow today?

Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++

Models showed potential snows with 2-5cm for Monty but it looks like the precip intensity was lacking.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 8:36 am Rain showers and 5.7ËšC.

Now it really looks over for snow after this.

But seriously I like many on this forum think it might be over for snow for several years now...hope not, but the cards seem stacked against us for a few winters.
