Re: June 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
Air quality not terrible yet, but definitely hazy and degraded this morning, probably from the Cameron Bluffs Fire that has closed Highway 4 on the Island.
It's called clown range for a reason.

LOL!
As requested, here is something really interesting... Okanagan Lake is peaking A LOT earlier than it used to! The lake level peaked on May 31st this year, which is only the 2nd time in 80 years of data that it has reached the peak in May. The only other year was 2018.

Re: June 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
I know its the weeklies but it's still concerning how it is showing a precip deficit for most of Canada. Not a good thing considering the current state of wildfires in the country.
Hoping we see a bit of rain as we head into the 2nd half of the month.

Latest EPS precip.
July is statistically a dry month. Not good if June keeps going like this.

Re: June 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
The most alarming thing is noticing the total loss of biodiversity along the Coastal Range. Lots of native plant specifies are rapidly dying at the roots. In 4 years, I have also noticed a rapid loss of fertile soils. This region will probably become a semi arid desert in a few decades.Catnip wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 10:39 am I know its the weeklies but it's still concerning how it is showing a precip deficit for most of Canada. Re: June 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
New York right now...
Listen I know people don't like to hear it 24/7 but we are seeing just the start of the effects of climate change.. The damage has been done. This isn't a " in 20 years " it's now and it's here.
People don't understand how climate change effects the jet stream.
