No. A week of rain doesn't cancel out the whole fire season man cmon. By July it will be back to high fire risk when the weather gets hot again.

Nice single thunder clap just a bit ago and nice downpour. Also had those 2 thunder claps last night that others reported.

Was it this one? Green Leaf Farm off 184 Street 12:09 am (timestamp is CDT so subtract two hours)

Couldn't believe it when I saw the flashes all the way from my place (I live in an east-facing suite), it hadn't been a hot or humid day at all.

l also just happen to see a flash off to my SW from Chilliwack when l was out last night and that was it, it was quite low on the horizon l thought it was a traffic camera flash or something else.

I really didn't think /S was necessary on that one but here we are. No I don't smoke cigarettes and yes tossing cigs out the window would be insane and abhorrent.

No the fire season is not over and has barely been dented. Hot weather can bring on firestorms in less than a week, even after a much longer period of rain and cold. Alberta and interior locations specifically can dry out really fast with tons of wind. Alberta is in a world of hurt right now.
