Globally were in uncharted territory weather wise especially temps. El Nino man l can't even imagine what's next but it can't be good going forward.
I reached a most comfortable high of 25c @ the pond in south Sardis. Bit of a nice refreshing break today no precp observed or recorded in the central valley.

I heard about this website this morning on 650 on a radio ad https://www.goweatherhood.com/. I looked because they advertised they were providing their own weather forecasts from weather stations of their own across the lower mainland. I don't know who is funding it or how they're powering their forecasts. Whenever you click on any of the city locations, it links to vancouverisawesome.

Weird and different perhaps A.I. is involved.

1.5 mm of rain this morning, but the sun is already out. Beats getting nothing, I guess.

0.25mm recorded today at the rain gauge in northeast Coquitlam, falling between 6 and 7am.

I wonder if we will experience a wet PNE? There's no reason to believe we will right now, but haven't we had an early start to the rainy season in El Nino years? El Nino isn't acting like a typical El Nino yet. Speaking of rainy season, I saw someone posted a 2023-2024 preliminary Winter outlook 4 days ago on Youtube and the picture showed the PNW being snowy. I'll take it!

You are absolutely correct Tright, l found a post that said due to inclement weather the fair will close early l didn't get a date most likely late August of 2021

The all-time record for Vancouver (recorded at Steveston, one of the stations which precedes YVR) is from 1896 when the streak with <5mm daily rain was from June 10th to September 14th, an incredible 97 day stretch!

Glad you feel better...but seems like a pretty technical sitch that i couldn't be bothered to research or help with sorry. But it is really dry out there
Had a passing shower this am in Langley. It intensified quite a bit then tapered off. Lasted about 30 minutes. Sadly, the grasses did not approve of it

I normally wouldn't be bothered myself. Ten seconds on Google took me to that classification. I was looking for footnotes with objective measures. I didn't see such items. Perhaps someone with more time can drill deeper. But if that's the bottom of the well of drought metrics in this province, it's laughably subjective. Where's"the science?" With three kids six and under my time to put my post-secondary ed to use is limited. It's dry, no doubt, but dry compared to what?

Thinking Monday or Tuesday is our next and only shot at precipitation for the month. 0Z Euro now hinting at ~10mm.

Is the Stevenston station still around ?

Unfortunately not, it shut down in 2004.
