Shockingly its the most substantial fire season in (recorded) history in BC, which of course doesn't go back that long but still covers some pretty crazy fire seasons. I say shockingly as in I'm shocked it took until July 18th

Sounds like some one didn't get the memo that this is the worst fire season in B.C. how they know this ahead of time is beyond me l thought nothing could out do 2021 the summer that Lytton burned down also l thought nothing could out do the Elephant Hill fire in the summer of 2017🔥 :o We reached a respectable 28c @ the pond in south Sardis and it's currently 24c at this time.

I didn't see such items. Perhaps someone with more time can drill deeper. But if that's the bottom of the well of drought metrics in this province, it's laughably subjective. Where's"the science?" With three kids six and under my time to put my post-secondary ed to use is limited. It's dry, no doubt, but dry compared to what?

Thinking Monday or Tuesday is our next and only shot at precipitation for the month. 0Z Euro now hinting at ~10mm.
It's great that you find the time to gather some sanity and post once in awhile Mattress man much appreciated.

It is substantial for area burned but not so substantial when it comes to interface fires this year. Most of the big fires have been in remote areas. Not trying to minimize the threat. This drought we are in is level 4/5 across much of the Province, it's still early and 2 firefighters have tragically lost their lives already.. But just saying there is an element of luck here, too. Because it's the interface fires that can be really devastating and deadly. And of course, we've seen a lot of that in the past decade or so ovviously with Kelowna, Lytton, etc. Hopefully, we won't see that this year, but I'm not confident.

Perhaps for that area east of Manning Park l can't recall the place at the moment :D nor is it allowed to be mentioned on here due to copyright infringements :wtf: and classified as a swear word.
