Re: August 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
While there is still some uncertainty as to the intensity and duration, next weeks heatwave is likely locked in.

Re: August 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
Models still having trouble now there are 2 northward moving typhoons and a hurricane in a rare course moving from east to west across the North Pacific. Models gonna be thrown for a loop. A total crapshoot. Bet on normal which is dry with a few hot days then cool down then more potential hot days. Normal August.

Re: August 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
Agreed. While I do think the likely scenario is for 5 to 7 days of low to mid 30's, there is also the potential for the heatwave to either bust entirely or end up a bit more intense than models are showing. It's a complex and fragile setup that the models are trying to resolve.Coquitlam79 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 3:32 pm Models still having trouble now there are 2 northward moving typhoons and a hurricane in a rare course moving from east to west across the North Pacific. Re: August 2023 Forecasts and Discussions
I say this every year around this time, but the lower sun angles are making it look a bit like fall and gives me that feeling of summer is fleeting. Every year, mid-August, I get this feeling, haha.
Of course it doesn’t feel anything like fall!
