I gotta get out there and pick some. I love berries and in a couple of months a small package of blackberries is around $7 at Langley Farm Market. It's insanity. I already bought and stored several pounds of blueberries.

I hope the smoke tomorrow isn't too terrible. In any case it looks warm into September. I honestly thought maybe this year summer would come to an abrupt end because it began so early back in the beginning of May. Last year summer didn't really begin in earnest until mid-late June (wasn't it one of the worst springs on record?) And so having summer last into October didn't surprise me. There's absolutely zero science to my line of thinking whatsoever but I always tend to think early summer= early fall and vice versa.

The best blueberries I have found are the ones that the birds seed on public greenbelt areas near blueberry farms in Richmond. They have reverted to wild form (smaller, sweeter, much more flavourful).
It's called clown range for a reason.

PDX got hammered with t-storms overnight.

Looks like activity is coming from the south but t-storms look unlikely.

Unfortunately, the Euro brings back the heat to start September. But hey, the GEM could be right. I think it's at least somewhat underrated. While the Euro may be statistically better, it's not perfect and the GEM also has a high verification score.
