Last I update I saw (August 28th) showed the proportion of the total area burned from the Donnie Creek wildfire (in NE BC) has shrunk... in early summer it comprised about half the total area burned across the province but at about one-quarter to one-third now.

Most of the area burned is in the Prince George fire centre, which covers an area the size of 10 Vancouver Islands including the Peace country. Interestingly the Cariboo fire centre has had a low fire year (so far) where in previous years was the site of some of the worst and biggest fires.

Sad to hear the passing of Jimmy Buffett he was 76 as well a T.V. icon the other day Bob Barker he was 99 it’s a toasty day in the Central Valley.

Isnt it odd all the mills are shutting down and the forests go up in smoke any coincidence there.

Happy Long weekend to all my weather buds. Last 2 days were really nice for Sept. Looks like next 2 are showery and much cooler. We need the rain..major ridging ended according to the models.

What happened to the next heat hump looks below normal for the first week back to school after Labour day? do l toss the summer shorts or wash them for the next stretch of unbearable hot and smoky weather.

Usually an indication of pretty benign weather. Plus it's a long weekend. Weather looks very average over the next several days

So I was talking to a friend who has family in Keefers on the west side of the Fraser near Boston Bar. Well, all but 2 houses burned down, and no one has insurance (you can't get it when you live in a rural area without city fire protection).

So once again frost is later than average. No frost in Chetwynd today.
