So I was talking to a friend who has family in Keefers on the west side of the Fraser near Boston Bar. Well, all but 2 houses burned down, and no one has insurance (you can't get it when you live in a rural area without city fire protection).

Some clear cutting is definitely helpfull but not allowed because of tree huggers

Definitely, clear cutting and regrowing super dense and diseased mono forests with no fire breaks has been hugely benficial for the fire situation lately, as shown by the incredible results.

The far better answer is proper forest management, thinning trees, growing different species that are more resistant to disease, etc. Cutting down every tree in a block is a big reason for the way things are right now. Clearing some brush and fuel is not the same as clear cutting.

You guys got frost yet?

Fun fact is that Kelowna gets frost August 3rd. At 1250m anyway. But most people live at lower eleations below 600m so don't get frost until October or even November near Okanagan Lake.

1) Clear cut all forests in BC to stop forest fires.
2) Blast every single mountain to prevent landslides.
3) Make the average elevation of BC be 800m to appease snow lovers.

It's meant to imply that nature lovers are just hippy children who don't understand the realities of the world. Which IMO is exactly the opposite of the truth.
