:alert:

Doubt I’d get 15 on the ground but fun to watch it fall if true.

They are more specific in the alert, which essentially says areas above ~300 m elevation

Actually the only mention of any specific elevation is where it explicitly states that “wet snow may reach sea level.”

Overall, it is very close to what I have been saying for the last day or so.
SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT

5:18 AM PST Friday 8 December 2023

Snow with 2 to 4 cm of accumulation over higher terrain is possible.

When: Saturday afternoon.

Where: Metro Vancouver.

Remarks: On Saturday, a frontal system will move onto the South Coast. Rain will begin Saturday morning and become mixed with snow Saturday afternoon. Wet snow may reach sea level but, generally, no significant accumulation is expected for most areas. Accumulations of 2 to 4 cm are possible over higher elevations of Metro Vancouver, such as the North Shore, Coquitlam, and Burnaby Mountain.

Strong warming is expected Saturday evening and any snow will transition back to rain as freezing levels rise to near 2000 metres.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.

Trust this to be the one time the GEM nails it for showing basically nothing except for terrain bleed
