It was the 13th I believe. Some areas got hit pretty hard that night with that initial arctic front.

Well Mr. Typeing Hat trick , you've been beating the January drum pretty good , not sure if the odds are with you or against you
Maybe in the year 2525 , if Sardineman is still alive.

I'd like to think the odds are in our favour. Our last cold January was way back in 1993.

If we follow that script into the new year, we'd be easily looking at our coldest January in a couple decades...Jan 1980 averaged 0.5C in Vancouver, 0.1C in Pitt Meadows and -0.1C in Abbotsford.

I wonder why there was so much consistency with the models back then whereas now they often struggle run to run?

It’s all pattern related. The models are better than they used to be. I seem to remember last February being fairly well predicted in the models, at least a week out. I could be mistaken.

Would be nice. FWIW my winter forecast was warm November, cool December, cold January. Still feels pretty plausible. Here’s hoping.

l was out for dinner tonight and saw the highlights of that game in the restaurant, the kicker was devastated and was crawling on the field in disbelief when he missed.
