The June 2021 ridge was something like a 1 in 500 year event. I don’t believe the a winter edition of that is even possible in our current climate state

Which is a good thing, as it could well end up being another mass death event. Imagine -20 for 5 straight days and never going above -10 in that time. Imagine the stress on the grid? Any outages and we’re pooched.

Yep, exactly.

Going even further back, perhaps January 1862 could rival June 2021, anomaly-wise?

l'm not sure about this but perhaps throw some munchies in there you can't live on TP and beer.

Of course you're sure,munchies is a given after using TP to roll a joint....no wonder your snow measurements are always skewed. Objects appear bigger than they are.

Finally had a chance to look at 18z 500mb ensemble. Block held in place a little better. Didn’t appear to want to be undercut as quickly.

Tuesday could be Snowy next week. A bit marginal but offshore flow giving a helping hand

Finally had a chance to look at 18z 500mb ensemble. Block held in place a little better. Didn’t appear to want to be undercut as quickly.

Yeah it was a few degrees warmer in the short range but still sub freezing and it was colder in the long range. Not a bad run at all.
