Re: January 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
I'm up to 29 cm. I have a feeling I could have gotten a higher measurement if it weren't from the wind blowing the snow. Still at -3 and a dewpoint of -7. Has started slowing down now, but still windy with blowing snow

24 cm in YVR, top 10-12 [depends on the decimal] ever recorded for any month.

YVR back below 0 after poking above briefly. Looks like it's from outflow on the back side of the low.

of course...bc in the old hood Pitt Meadows this would be once every 30-40 yearsPittGal wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 8:42 am Hello from Harrison Mills! I just measured and I'm at 17 cm although its pretty windy here so not sure how accurate that is. Temperature just dropped to -3 with a - 4.5 dew point. I gotta say with the wind and intense snow at the moment, I would put this very very close to the top of my favourite snow storms so far!
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++

Closing in on 20†or 50cm this is the most snow in one dump I can remember for quite some time!

Re: January 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
So just to report we've gotten 15 to 20 cm. Also we'd had quite high winds at some points. And now the sun's trying to peek through a little. With the recharge tomorrow, maybe we can catch up to everyone a little bit, as we should be a tiny bit cooler than south of us. Funny thing is we have a little less snow this time than we had during the last one that I don't think hit the Lower Mainland very much.

Re: January 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
North Vancouver seems to be left off a lot of lists today.
so report from NV = 25 cm and counting in Lynn Valley
still coming down hard so expect another 2-3cm in the next hour or so.
will measure again later on. Let the winter continue!
