This reminds me of another winter maybe 2 years ago when we had the arctic air and it just kept snowing every day, small amounts but nothing was forecast on EC and it wasn't expected to stick around but it did.

I don't think outflow is much of an issue. Looks wet on radar.Cloverdale wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 9:32 am Take a look at the lions cam. You can see all the way to the island. Lower levels look dry for the moment. Ceiling still high.

Yeah it's already snowing in Victoria. I don't think saturation is gonna be too much of an issue.

Let's see if the models bust because most show a dusting at most.

Re: January 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
Remember that time in 2008 after a major snowstorm we had a second storm that was supposed to be brief snow changing to rain but then it never actually warmed up and we got another massive dump of snow? Hopefully this will be a repeat. It's so fun when the forecast busts in the opposite direction and actually gives us what we want!

Re: January 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
If it helps...models have drastically cut down on rainfall over the next few days with the systems splitting up. This stuff will not be rapidly melting.Leighbugs wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 9:46 am Remember that time in 2008 after a major snowstorm we had a second storm that was supposed to be brief snow changing to rain but then it never actually warmed up and we got another massive dump of snow? Shouldn't metro Van/valley have a snowfall warning by now? Maybe at the 10 am update?
