Wouldn't be too sure if I were you. East Van snow belt is doing it's thing tonight and radar looking juicy. Temps still solidly below freezing with outflow. Even if only 2-3 cm of snow, if there's 5+mm of ZR in western sections I'd say they didn't do their job.

Yup. Now freezing rain is at our door step.Fortunately I am at +0.5C but the frozen ground will make it icy regardless.

Been snowing for hours and not so much as a cm IMBY. HRDPS and NAM 3km nailed it again.
It's called clown range for a reason.

fairly steady snow, temp -0.7C and shoveled surfaces are white again.

the longer this stays and doesn't become freezing rain, the happier I will be

After a high of -0.5C, my temperature is now dropping. Down to -0.9C now with a dew point of -6C. Moisture moving in. Once it changes to freezing rain, I expect some ice build up here. Could get very slippery on the roads and sidewalks, hence EC's freezing rain warning.

Really? I have at least 2 cm new on the walkway between my house and the garage, and that's paved. On top of my King Snowball it's 2.5 cm.

Moderate snow now too.

They have a " risk of freezing rain" in the forecast. Everyone was asking where the snowfall warning was at 11 am. So far, the forecast was solid, and no snowfall warning was needed.

Job well done. ( at the moment )

Just checked and up to 1.5 cm now. It's also mixing with ice pellets, so the end is approaching.

(Remember, ice pellets count as snow for purposes of snowfall measurement.)

Yenno what, I see your point. But I still think SWS was absolutely 100% necessary.

This is why the models should be trusted in the short range over the current radar imagery. Just because it's cold with moisture on the radar doesn't mean it will snow and accumulate. I've seen many cases where the radar looks promising and yet nothing really comes of it.
