No spring! Bring on a lot of cold rain the next 3 months to cover the Mountains! The next 2 weeks will be all rain on the North Shore

Re: January 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
Okay it's actually 33°F rain rn and it is DISGUSTING because the pedestrian crossings at intersections are filthy slurries which aren't melting fast enough.

33ËšF? Banana belt! It's 0.2ËšC (32.4ËšF) rain here. Snow has compacted to dense slushy stuff but not much melting going on.VanCitySouth wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2024 8:09 am Okay it's actually 33°F rain rn and it is DISGUSTING because the pedestrian crossings at intersections are filthy slurries which aren't melting fast enough.
Probably just as well. Soil is still mostly frozen and would not let water soak in. I remember sudden midwinter thaws would cause flooding in the Midwest because of this.

Re: January 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
Car thermometer says 0.5°C which is 33°F, it's not perfect but it was good enough to meme 33° rain. You have me beat with 32° rain though!Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2024 8:22 am 33ËšF? Re: January 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
Cold air stays in Alaska and Yukon on this run. Really hope future runs show a chilly zonal flow

Air temp is near 0.5C but still seeing ice accretion on my railings this morning. Very slow melt so far.

Re: January 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
Currently snow with a few centimeters new and, what sounds like ice pellets blowing against the window, and definitely below freezing. But haven't had a chance to see exactly where we're at.
