Hopefully not Neetz.

A quick look at the webcams on the local mountains indicate they are almost running on empty... again.

The ski hills are screwed regardless. The major concern will be river/creek flows this spring/summer as the drainage basins in valleys rely on higher alpine melt.

Historic warm night in Vancouver YVR!

➡️ With a Tmin of 11.6°C, this is the highest Tmin ever recorded in January (previous record: 11.0°C on January 7, 2002).

➡️ Highest Tmin ever recorded between late November and early April! Exceptional!

Most likely outcome is a brief chilly period before the El Niño pattern dominates again. My guess is winter is over but next winter could be fun.

If it's this warm we might as well make a run at the monthly record. Only 1.3C more to go!
