They definitely got way more than I did, just 15 minutes away.

Power went out here not long after my last post, around 10 pm and not on until noon, I sure do appreciate having a wood stove...and the fact I took the hint of dimming light and filled a pot with water. The internet and phone were also out and not on until 7 pm tonight! Almost harder to live without internet than without power - lol Though without power there's no internet...

Total here was a generous 2.5 cm. Much more fell, it just melted or compacted as it landed. The snow in the driveway was supersaturated, like a slushy puddle, it reminded me of what I think of as 'typical' Vancouver snow which I haven't seen in a few years.

Most of the snow melted early today and the roads were clear but down in Gibsons they had impressive piles where the snowplows had cleared the highway and there was significant snow on the grass and driveways still.

Cold tonight currently -1.1c -2.2 dp in Sechelt (Wilson Creek) and 0c -2c dp in Roberts Creek.

It seems the latest ECMWF seasonal has a summer forecast of warmer than normal... and wetter than normal?

For god's sake, we don't care about daily records. That's nothing. Climatology zero.

Interesting pattern in the long range. Ripe for retrogression, and more snow fails. I’d like some warm weather for spring break but more mountain snow would be a good option too.

There is a weak shortwave on Vancouver Island associated with the trough moving eastward. It is interested to see this on the sat imagery right now.

Some models have been showing some snow shower activity for Van Island and over the alpine areas of the South Coast. Could bring some cloudcover the next 24 hrs with potential for very light flurries.
