Re: May 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
Except that is reality. I don’t watch the news but I’m glad to hear they are reporting on the cold hard facts. They always add in feel good fluff too to cheer everyone up don’t they? Now it's the pattern is caused by drought or wildfires or rising temperatures worldwide it does get depressing.

I want to see the forecast not a continuous barage of drought, wildfires and climate change.
I hear you bro. So much drama

Re: May 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
This wouldn't be the first time this has happened on a May long weekend so not surprising.

I think you're capable of expressing your opinions in a more mature manner. Not that I want to start a debate or anything (ain't got time for that) but LOLing someone sets the tone of a 12 year old twitter meme battle and I don't think anyone here wants that.

Why do you do this? It's so immature. I'm not coming off as rude, but you're a grown man, not a kid. You can express an opinion without coming across as smug and better than everyone else.

Re: May 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
You know I like you, bro, but I have to say something. The reason you see it every day is because that's what's happening every day. The reality is, this is how it is now, and if they didn't report it, then they would not be reporting the facts. If people don't want to see it, then we should do something about it so the climate doesn't keep behaving this way.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2024 2:22 pm Not dishonest news but what happened to good old here's the forecast with maps. Don't get me wrong, we all miss those times, including me, but unfortunately, this is the world we live in.

Also, it's as if people forget that many lose homes and even their lives in the summer due to fires and climate change in BC... so yeah, I don't see why this shouldn't be reported, lol. We all forget too easily.

Re: May 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
I kind of get it like I have to tune it out myself just to focus on getting through my day. But if you choose to watch the news you can’t complain when they report on the news! Ask the people of North Korea how much they like censorship of bad news.Weather101 wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 7:43 am Also, it's as if people forget that many lose homes and even their lives in the summer due to fires and climate change in BC... so yeah, I don't see why this shouldn't be reported, lol. The fires have really emerged as BCs climate change threat. It’s important people know the facts for their own safety and protection of assets.
We’re sitting here in mid May and area burnt has already exceeded a whole bunch of entire years. I find that concerning. This could be a real bad one, let’s hope it turns around. But if not, then at least let people have the information to be prepared.

Re: May 2024 Forecasts and Discussions
I just don't have sympathy for people who purposely spread misinformation and try to downplay things for their own agenda because some random guy on Twitter with 56 followers says, "Climate change isn't real."PortKells wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 8:10 am I kind of get it like I have to tune it out myself just to focus on getting through my day. But I completely agree with you. People need to know what is going on. If you do not tell people, they will think everything is fine, and the next thing you know, their whole area is burning down. Plus, we know how this works. People complain if they show climate change and the fire threat, yet would complain if they did not show it. It is just an endless cycle.
