Pretty sure some stations got 42 cm in last January’s snowstorm.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Interesting. This is no longer showing above normal temps for Summer on the west coast.

The Weather Network has just released their Summer 2024 forecast and it features normal to below normal temperatures in BC with normal to above normal Precip. The above normal precipitation is focused in WA state and brushing close to the BC/WA state border.

Yes I think the ENSO is playing a role in the forecasts I have been seeing today. The heat dome looks to be anchored further into the country this Summer according to Tyler Hamilton instead of being focused in BC. Ontario, for example, will have to worry about the scorching heat this time.

The 6Z GFS replaced the big ridge with a pattern that some of us would be happy with in winter.

The forum might actually stay relatively active this Summer compared to most of the Summer's in most years the past 5-7 years.

I’m getting thunder and lightning here. Rain just started and the wind is picking up. :D

Edit: Just experienced a brief period of major hail. I don't remember the last time I've seen hail like that. My floor was starting to vibrate.

And now this:
1:35 PM PDT Wednesday 29 May 2024

At 1:34 PM PDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.

Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.

In effect for:
Fraser Valley - west including Abbotsford
Central Abbotsford
50m (164ft)

2022/23 season snowfall: 76.8cm
