Trying to get back from Alberta. It’s another reminder what an embarrassment our national highway system is. Beautiful weather and scenery. But our infrastructure is garbage.

It's so bad in BC especially. Every frickin highway in the interior has to go right through the middle of every town! Slight exaggeration, but still, the largest interior town that you can actually drive by without hitting a traffic light is Merritt (8,000 people). 113 traffic lights on highway 97 alone. Even way up north on the Peace river prairie it's bad. Dawson Creek, Fort. St. John are turning into traffic chaos.

I'm sure I'm repeating myself here, but when I drove down to Arizona in March, we were so frustrated with the drive that we stopped in Omak, WA for the night. Traffic light after traffic light down the okanagan valley was really not fun. I was sitting there at a light in Penticton thinking, "are the oil companies designing BC's highways because I've spent more time idling at lights today than actually driving!"

1 light every 3km for the 180km of highway 97 from Osoyoos to Vernon! The next day was such a fun drive that I would much prefer driving down the US than staying in BC even if the scenery in BC is as nice.

BTW, the last time I drove to Alaska, I went up the icefields highway and highway 40 through grand Cache and Grand Prairie just so I could avoid BC highways as long as possible! So much more fun to drive in Alberta than in BC!

Yes, the odds have gone up with the warming climate I agree! But it’s still a very minimal chance of getting a June 21 repeat

Who says I don’t believe in science that’s an unfair statement
"I can say whatever I want."

Very mature of you to be spreading disinformation.
Every post you make shows that you don't believe in science, so I'm just going off your own words, John.

Stop saying this, lol. Summer has been here. We don't need heat domes to have "summer."

Nobody goes from human weather almanac to suddenly not knowing what summer is. It’s a schtick.

Absolutely beautiful day in an incredible summer so far. Looking forward to a solid soaking the next couple days so we can continue to enjoy summer without having an environmental crisis!

You might like an interior location like Osoyoos. You would get much more extremes there, be it cold or hot but especially hot with no breeze. Obviously you can’t just uproot everything for climate reasons but if an onshore breeze is that uncomfortable…

Maybe some convective dynamic tomorrow? I'd be down for some downpours and thunder.
