It's too bad there's no comparable station around there with long term data (Coquitlam Lake maybe?), as it would be interesting to see how it stacks up against some of the upper tier rainfall events that we've seen in the general period of record throughout the Lower Mainland (I.e. since ~1875).Canada Goose wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 1:30 pm Coquitlam Burke Mountain:

All-time records have been smashed, shattered, pulverized.
Even though the POR is very short [2014-], this is highly significative. The previous records were much, much lower (half lower for most).

Re: October 2024 Forecasts And Discussions
It's so sad as we discussed before Tfall the lack of stations or stations that have closed down as well as record collecting data in B.C. it's a joke really you can't get a sense of raw average data.Typeing3 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 4:28 pm It's too bad there's no comparable station around there with long term data (Coquitlam Lake maybe?), as it would be interesting to see how it stacks up against some of the upper tier rainfall events that we've seen in the general period of record throughout the Lower Mainland (I.e. since ~1875).

Amazingly wet this past week, though, not as crazy as Coquilam.

4th for most precipitation over two days:
10/17/2003 210.4 (date is the ending date)
1/18/2005 169
11/15/2021 162.8
10/19/2024 157.9
3/11/2007 153.6

11/15/2021 183.4
10/20/2024 180.2

Fall colours...in the sky. October 4.
And a Special Weather Statement for winds near 60 km/h gusting to 80 km/h on Friday night into Saturday. It's perfectly timed because the last eggs are just hatching in the incubator and the next ones go in after the windstorm.
