I got snowy thundersnow on Cypress this afternoon. They shut the lifts down as a result.

Quite the ridge being modelled for the West.

Looks like the East wins round 1.

Thanks Neetz.

The good news is that there is plenty of cold being modelled for the lower latitudes. Getting the cold into North America is a start.

Keep in mind, the current projected pattern looks similar to how December 2017 started. But by the end of the month, the cold shifted west and the Fraser Valley saw back to back ice storms, which were oh so close to being multi day snowstorms. Unfortunately, there just wasn't quite enough cold air in the upper levels to support low elevation snowfall in most regions. However, areas west of Chilliwack did see major snowfall with that event. Places such as Agassiz and Hope scored big time in the snow department. So it was very close, but it was unfortunately not close enough.

How about some Spring skiing for the holidays. Alberta is where all the action is this weekend. :D

I know it's late November but l'm just not feeling it this year. Something tells me to give it up to Alberta east this year it just seems there over due. It's currently 2c under clear skies at the pond in south Sardis could we hit freezing this morning. :shifty: nope of course we didn't hit freezing. :x

Wuta sad turn in the models from just a while ago. I was hoping for a chilly start in December but pineapples return with a vengence

The consolation is, of course, that they might change again. With a changing climate, the models will be more volatile and less consistent.

I blame the ski resorts for opening early. Constantly jinxing themselves.

As I said a couple of days ago this coming week has a potential, as for December still remains to be seen.

Inversion doesn't look promising for a freeze with potential clouds and fog putting a dent on overnight mins.

Really hoping we can hold off a freeze until January. It would be nice to keep the grass growing for my usual weekly mow.

First week of December looks great for hanging the Christmas pineapple lights. :wtf: more of a chance seeing a nuclear winter.
