Re: December 2024 Forecasts And Discussions
I was oversensitive about people cheering on damage from things like windstorms. I had this on my mind - this tree came down metres away from where my wife and MIL were standing. Don't underestimate the power of nature! This is a live friggin tree.

You’re good. A couple of years ago we had a major windstorm that had trees fall on a kids camp that took 1 child’s life. Nature is fierce.PortKells wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 4:50 pm I was oversensitive about people cheering on damage from things like windstorms. Yep. Dry backdoor arctic blast early Feb 2014 and a three-day snow event near the end of the month, most of which barely accumulated on paved surfaces for two days IMBY. Another shot of snow in early March on the day Vancouver hosted the heritage classic.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 6:22 pm Yucky Telf didn't we get something in February then something around March 1st 2014?

Re: December 2024 Forecasts And Discussions
I think it was over by then...I went to the game and they had the roof closed for rain and mild temps. After the Canucks blew the game I remember some guy ran through the fake snow around the rink, to the cheers of the mostly disappointed fans. Overall, one of the worst attempted sporting events I've ever seen lol. Even ran Luongo out of town to boot!

Re: December 2024 Forecasts And Discussions
That sounds absolutely heartbreaking. A tree killed someone near here around I'm going to say, 2016? One of the many windstorms in that S-O-N period.Weatherhead2 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 6:44 pm You’re good. SWS for the Sunshine Coast. Sounds like a 'cook your turkey before the guests arrive just in case' Christmas this year.

It would be awesome not to lose power on Christmas day, like we did last year lolSouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 8:33 pm You live in the land of SWS for some reason Ms. Cookyourgoosecreeks. It seems AI Canadauses your area as a testing ground for fake SWS that never materialize.
