22-23 stands up pretty nicely to 60’s winters at least. Problem is, that’s now a once in a generation winter.Typeing3 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 2:47 pm Snowfall-wise, the 1910s and 1920s combined were better than the 1950s and 1960s.

Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
This winter is absolutely, frustratingly, baffling. One of my least favorite winters was the winter of 1991/92. We had some cold weather and snow at the end of October. The rest of the winter was very mild and very wet. However, that year was a record el Nino. This year, the tea leaves favored something cooler. Yet here we are. Where I live, we haven't had any widespread frost, this year. It seems to be house to house. That is even more unusual. Overall mild winters are not uncommon, but the lack of frost is concerning.

1933-34: Only two freezes recorded in Victoria (Dec 15 & 16) for the entire cold season.Michael1 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 6:52 pm This winter is absolutely, frustratingly, baffling. This winter has been seasonably cool with not a lot of variation. Fortunately it looks like La Nina is starting to get her act together.Michael1 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 6:52 pm This winter is absolutely, frustratingly, baffling. Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
Quite an adjustment on the GFS. Brings a modified arctic airmass into the region Friday with a weak arctic front.
We could see flakes in the air Friday.

Winter is probably over after this cold wave and we are likely to see pineapples return in the long range.
